One of the big events in the Risc Os calendar takes place on Saturday 20 April.

The Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club will be holding its 18th annual show at:

The Cedar Court Hotel
Denby Dale Road, Calder Grove
West Yorkshire WF4 3QZ

(Adjacent to J39 of the M1)

The organisers say: “There will be the usual eclectic mix of exhibitors, including both professionals and enthusiasts. To give a flavour of those attending, we have for example the Hackspace Raspberry Jammers, Aemulor Pi, R-Comp, MW Software, and even some 8-bit items from BeebMaster and Retro Software.”

Other exhibitors include CJE Micros, RISC OS Open Ltd (ROOL) and Organizer 2, which will be releasing a new version of its personal information manager.

There is something for everyone, from 8-bit computers (such as the BBC Micro) through to the latest Raspberry Pi and ARMiniX (Pandaboard) systems.

Several illustrated talks will take place during the day in the show theatre, including presentations by R-Comp and RISC OS Open.

Full details of participants and times are on the show website.

Opening hours for the public are 10:30am to 4:30pm.

Tickets will cost £5 on the door, but entry for children aged 12 or under (accompanied by an adult) is free. There will be a free mini-bus service operating between Wakefield Westgate railway station and the show venue throughout the day.
