Using an MMA7455 Accelorometer with the Raspberry Pi

In his first Raspberry Pi video, Zachary Igielman demonstrates how to use an MMA7455 Accelorometer with the Raspberry Pi.

You will need all of the usual Raspberry Pi accessories (Pi, sd card with raspbian, keyboard, screen, AV/HDMI cable, micro usb power, ethernet cable/usb wifi dongle and internet router) as well as:

Commands:

sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/raspi-blacklist.conf (add a # before the line with i2c then save the file with Ctrl+X Y Enter)
sudo nano /etc/modules (add new line ‘i2c-dev’ at the bottom then save the file with Ctrl+X Y Enter)
sudo apt-get install python-smbus i2c-tools
sudo adduser pi i2c
sudo reboot

i2cdetect -y 1
i2cdetect -y 0
