DATE: Monday 21st April 2014
(ROUGOL meets on the third monday of each month)
SUBJECT: Shadow RAM, Music 500, and ArcElite
PRESENTED BY: Chris Jordan, Hybrid Technology
TIME: 7:45pm (although lots of ROUGOL members are usually there – eating curry – from about 6pm!)
VENUE: Upstairs in the Spice Lounge restaurant at the Blue Eyed Maid public house, 173 Borough High St, SE1 1HR.

Chris Jordan had a long involvement with Acorn, all the way through the Beeb and Archimedes era.

He was a member of the BBC Micro design team, Publications Editor at Acornsoft, co-inventor of shadow RAM, co-author of book/disc Creative Sound on the BBC Micro, and designer of the Acorn Music 500 and Hybrid Music Systems.

In the guise of Hybrid Technology he was also the publisher of Archimedes Elite, and went on to develop the SNES, Sega and Gameboy versions of Elite.

Chris will be coming along to tell us about some/all of these, and other fascinating bits of Acorn history, and is happy to answer questions afterwards.

What better way could there be to spend a bank holiday evening?

The usual arrangements

All meetings benefit from video projection with ROUGOL’s video projector, so everyone should have a great view. A wide range of hot and cold food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, will be on sale. Admittance is free and everyone is welcome.

There may well be copies of printed RISC OS magazines at the meeting, if you’d like to take a brief look to see if you’d like to subscribe.

Anyone with wireless enabled handhelds or laptops should be able to access the internet during the meeting, or (if time allows) use ROUGOL’s own RiscPC to do so after the main presentation has finished.

To be informed about current and future meetings, please join the mailing list. Everyone on the mailing list will be kept informed of these and other ROUGOL initiatives.
