Software Programmer Karl Wang, from Adelaide, Australia has set up GeekRoo to provide “everything you need to start your Raspberry Pi, in a Mini-ITX motherboard”.

Karl writes, “In July 2012, I got my first Raspberry Pi. I played with it for a while and found that I needed a case for it. To my disappointment, I didn’t find any good-looking cases in Australian market. I had to buy from America or UK, and pay a lot of postage for that. I contacted my old friend Wei Zhang, who owned a security system hardware company in China, told him about my frustration. Wei suggested that it was actually a good chance to design and make our own cases, and even other accessories for Raspberry Pi. So In August 2012, Wei and I founded GeekRoo in the attic of my house.”

“We usually start working after dinner everyday, till 2am next morning. We designed couple of Raspberry Pi cases and got them manufactured in Wei’s company. People loved them! Though the profit can hardly cover our petrol money, we still enjoy it. When we thought about making GeekRoo jump faster and further, Herman Liu joined us. We knew him from a Raspberry Pi forum. He is a hardware engineer works in a large and famous company. He is a energetic guy and always has a lot of brilliant ideas.”
