Jim Lesurf has made a simple Audio CD ripper available, called !ClassicRip. This can be downloaded from http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/
ClassicRip has two specific features:
1) It allows the user to rip chosen sets of successive tracks to a single (wave) file. When this is done it also generates a text file listing the time offsets of each track’s start in the file. This is useful for musical works like classical music symphonies, etc. It makes it easier to generate a single file for an entire work, but then know the times at which individual movements commence.
2) It gives the user a choice of ripping methods: One user choice will carry out the rips using CDParanoia. This does a lot of checking and will correct various kinds of read errors that can arise with poor discs or optical drives. The drawback is that all the checking, etc, slows down the ripping process. The alternative is a simpler method which does minimal checking. This works fine with normal discs in a decent optical drive, and is faster.
As usual Jim has included the source code he wrote. Anyone who wishes is welcome to modify and use this as they choose.
